NEW 100% COMPOSTABLE RETAIL PACKAGE
PulpWorks, Inc. (San Rafael, CA), designers and manufacturers of molded pulp packaging, and EO Products (Corte Madera, CA), makers of essential oil-based natural and organic bath, skin and hair care products, have co-developed a 100% compostable package for retail displays – the PW-Pack.
The patent-pending PW-Pack is a safe, easy-to-open and environmentally superior alternative to the plastic (PVC) blister pack. Retailers and consumers alike now have an answer to the dilemma of over-packaged and toxic plastic. Every PW-Pack purchase is a small act of kindness to our planet.
The simple, two-piece package consists of: (1) a molded pulp backing piece with a cavity that securely holds the saleable item; and (2) a printed, branded, die-cut face card (see photo).
With no plastic and no adhesive, the PW-Pack is ideally suited to replace literally billions of blister packs. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) blister packs are a significant and permanent presence in landfills, the cause of more than 60,000 emergency room visits every year, and continue to be a financial burden on the public long after their use as a package.
